Admission Requirements

Students must be enrolled in the College of Education and Health Professions and must declare their major as Pre-Communication Disorders. Students can indicate this on their initial application form for admission to the University of Arkansas. All students are accepted as tentative candidates to the undergraduate program and given the Pre-Communication Sciences and Disorders (PCSDI) designation. Undergraduate students who decide to pursue a major in Communication Sciences and Disorders should follow the instructions and advice in the Application Process.

Applications are typically reviewed in the spring, and accepted students begin coursework in the fall of their junior year.

Students who do not meet admission requirements in any given year may reapply in subsequent years provided admission requirements are met.

Undergraduate students in the Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders have the opportunity to enhance their learning by participating in the CSDI Honors (SharePoint).

Completion of the Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders follows a three-stage process as detailed in the Undergraduate Catalog of Studies.

Students who already have an undergraduate degree in an area of study different from Communication Disorders can participate in the Post Baccalaureate Plan Option (PDF). This program provides individuals with the required academic background to apply for graduate degree programs in speech-language pathology.
